On February 7th, the pamināwasowin Child Care Centre welcomed dental hygiene students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, who provided an engaging dental health session for the children. The students made learning about oral hygiene fun and interactive through hands-on activities and shared engaging stories about tooth care. Children practiced proper brushing techniques on toy models and drawings, helping them develop good dental habits in a playful way.
This collaboration between our daycare and Saskatchewan Polytechnic demonstrates the valuable learning opportunities that arise from our broader academic community partnerships.
We’re grateful to Saskatchewan Polytechnic for this valuable learning opportunity that combined health education with play-based learning.
Each child received take-home items, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and stickers, to encourage good dental habits. Parents, keep encouraging those healthy dental habits at home! Ask your little ones to show you what they learned about caring for their teeth.
