Gathering of Traditional Medicines at the Northern Campus

August 28, 2024

Every summer the Northern Campus Cultural Committee ventures out to gather a variety of traditional medicines the campus could use for the year. During the latest excursion, elder Shelley Belhumeur, oskâpêwis Kelly Daniels, Indigenous Education Program Coordinator Reanna Daniels, Student Ambassador Miranda Parenteau and FNUniv Student Counsellor Jackie Nixon, were able to gather sweetgrass, sage, mint, and yarrow.

The committee will be out in September to pick muskeg and labrador tea.
