The 2024 Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Camp was a free five-day program targeted at Indigenous youth in grades 10-12 and recent high school graduates. Hosted at the FNUniv Regina Campus from July 29 to August 2, 2024, the Indigenous Business & Public Administration faculty and staff welcomed 18 students out of the 40 applicants for the week-long event.
Throughout the camp, students diligently crafted business plan presentations covering idea generation, marketing, finance, and finalizing a mini-business plan. Participants were taught and mentored by faculty, local Indigenous entrepreneurs, and IYEC partners.
At the end of the week, participants presented five innovative ideas and showcased their concepts to a panel of judges comprising camp partners. The judges evaluated the projects based on feasibility and performance. The students engaged in team-building and creativity, knowing they were in a nurturing space throughout the week.
The camp emphasizes participation over competition, ensuring every student receives a valuable prize for their efforts.
The Indigenous Business & Public Administration program graciously thanks the 14 partners for their commitment and support of this year’s camp.
