From September 27-29, 2024, FNUniv proudly partnered with the Saskatchewan Roughriders to host the Northern Football Jamboree in Regina. This event brought together 200 youth from across Northern Saskatchewan for a weekend of football, mentorship, and community-building.
FNUniv’s collaboration with the Roughrider Foundation provided a unique opportunity to showcase our campus, programs, and educational opportunities to the visiting youth. Throughout the weekend, FNUniv introduced participants to the pathways available for their academic and personal growth.
Beyond football activities, the youth also participated in the Smudge Walk on September 27, which offered them a meaningful connection to Indigenous culture and community during this important time of Truth and Reconciliation.
The Roughriders also generously donated game tickets, which were featured in a promotion at Kohkom Bea’s and raffled as part of the FNUniv Social Committee’s initiatives.
This partnership underscored FNUniv’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, celebrating Indigenous culture, and fostering collaborative relationships with other nations and organizations.
