Direct messaging is an emerging tool being used by employees to communicate with one another more quickly as well as to prevent having to send unnecessary emails and cluttering up email inboxes. It is especially important in remote working conditions and with employees working on geographically distant campuses, where walking down the hall to ask a quick question is not possible.
