Discover a Path to Reconciliation Through Lifelong Learning

Through lifelong learning, the Indigenous Continuing Education Centre (ICEC) creates greater access for non-degree-seeking learners on a path to lifelong education that leads to new opportunities or connections with Indigenous culture and tradition.

ICEC offers Professional MicroBadges, MicroCredentials, and MicroCertificates that respond to the six Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) themes.

ICEC is committed to providing transformative learning opportunities for all Canadians. ICEC course offerings are designed and organized to align with the TRC Calls to Action related to health, justice, education, reconciliation, language and culture, and child welfare.

Dear ICEC Learners,

We would like to bring to your attention an important update regarding ICEC professional badges and credentials. Some of you may have noticed that your badges and credentials appear to have been revoked. We want to assure you that this is not the case.

In our on-going efforts to enhance the recognition and value of your academic achievements, we have recently updated the design and format of ICEC’s professional badges and credentials. This update ensures that your accomplishments are presented in the best possible light, reflecting the high standards of excellence you have achieved.

Please be aware that these changes do not affect the validity or permanence of your credentials. Your academic achievements remain intact and are as valid as ever. Any professional badges or credentials that appeared to be revoked have simply been replaced with updated versions.

We understand that you may have concerns about these changes. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to ICEC Administration @ icec@firstnationsuniversity.ca

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Reila Bird
