Special Collections

Special Collections are unique, out-of-print, and historical materials related to Indigenous education, languages, cultures, and governance (books, journals, audio recordings, ephemera, and posters). Patron Advisory: Our Special Collections contain some books that reflect colonial attitudes towards Indigenous peoples, and which were written with the intent of converting or assimilating Indigenous peoples to Christian or Western cultural perspectives and values. By today’s standards, this material would be considered racist. Such materials may cause or trigger trauma invoked by memories of residential school abuse.
